At the age of 25 Leon van der Merwe, (Founder of Genesis Flooring), joined the flooring industry after he spent his first years gaining experience as project manager with a major property manager at the time.

In a short period of time he was well versed in the flooring and carpet industry as he worked among leading flooring manufacturers and the corporate sectors. It was at this stage in 2003 that he saw a real need for someone to connect quality flooring products to corporate business and the end consumer in a way that enabled them the freedom to make informed decisions.
